The light will turn to dark.
Gradually, and beautifully.
A pair of opposites.
A harmony of contrast.
A rainbow fades-
side to side
color to shade.
With each distinct piece,
a unique whole.
Distance appears blunt
but in proximity the colors smeared,
in nature’s simplistic and meticulous order.

I looked up in astonishment. The moon grew only larger and more mysterious with each breath, each thought, each beat of my heart.
